The Ides of March
March 15th, also known as the ides of March, always reminds me of Julius Caesar. Shakespeare's phrase, "beware the ides of March" is infamous for its negative connotation; the day Caesar is killed and betrayed. This date is also historically attached to many other wonderful happenstances as well.
Today there are a variety of ways to incorporate plays like Hamlet into your life. You can read a play or rent both old school and updated movie versions on DVD. That way the story becomes alive making it easier to get children interested. In my house it's a positive excuse to explore the many great tragedies like Julius Caesar that William Shakespeare gave to society.
For more information on things that happened on this date here is a link to an article I enjoyed.
