Real Spring Cleaning
Once again, the seasons are changing. It’s almost springtime, which means spring cleaning needs to be done. This is the time when we freshen up all of those things we don’t do normally as the house is straitened. That includes the windows, ground in dust around old fashion radiators and basement cleanings to name a few. The cleaning list is long and frankly we don’t always know what to do with some things. So they find the way back to our attics. Don’t fret because there are resources available.
We all know that the Salvation Army takes clothes, but they also take furniture and household items. You can also schedule a pick up. Business clothing can be donated to Dress for success at dressforsuccess.org. O Magazine’s March 2011 Issue has a piece entitled Who Wants My _ _ _ _?, that offers an expanded list of things and places to donate, recycle or sale goods. Another handy site is earth911.org.
I'll through in a couple of tip. For dust that appears hard to lift, use a hard bristled handheld brush and scrub. Use an old toothbrush for small hard to reach places like a radiator. Whip up your best batch of cleaning solvent or use your favorite brand to soak the brushes and go at it.
